[FULMEN 055] Utopyk & El Fulminador – Rätsel
The 10 years remaster of our first release is now available on all platforms.
Originally released in 2014 as part of the album “2011”, the remix EP features the experimental original track and seven variations that play with dissimilar elements such as reaggeton beats and dreamy vocal lines with lyrics inspired by an old German riddle.
The result is a journey to totally different sides of the downtempo electronic spectrum, from idyllic jams with balearic influences to dark hypnotic dubs and percussive mayhems that dig deeper into the interaction between experimental textures and latin rhythms.

Rätsel Original Music Video
The original music video for Rätsel was filmed in a period between 2012 and 2014, in locations such as the Beelitz abandoned hospital, Ullsteinhaus and the Park am Nordbahnhof, all of them in Berlin. The piece references surrealistic horror cinema from the 70s and 80s, with a special nod to Czech masterpiece “Valerie – Eine Woche voller Wunder”.
Rätsel Mut Music Video
The music video for Rätsel (Mut) was filmed during the performance rehearsals for “Rätsel Masked Ball” the event held in 2014 as release party for the first edition of this EP. Here, the theme of identity fluctuations is approached using esthetic references such as the Carnival of Venice and characters from La Commedia Dell’Arte.
